A 30 MINUTES USEFUL ELECTROPLATING COURSE FOR BEGINNERS IS AVAILABLE HERE:

Chemical Specification:

- Pure gold per 1L: 1.4 G.
- Per 2.5 L of distilled (DI) water.
- Plating time: 10-120 secs (regardless of thickness of layer required).
- Chemical inclusions - yes:
    a) Brightener;
    b) Sticker.
- Chemical form: powder (salt).
- To be mixed with distilled (or DI) water.
- Working temperatures in a liquid form - +20 - +70 C.
- Shelf life in powder form - up to 2 years.
- Shelf life in solution (dark & cold place) - up to 6 month.
- Anode: gold or stainless steel sheets.
- Plating voltage required: 7-12 Vdc / 0.25-1.0 Adc regulated.
- Type of solution: re-usable in plastic or glass tank (container).

Few useful points for beginners:

- Stainless steel anode graded SS306 or higher.
- It is advisable to mix the whole packet rather than smaller quantities to ensure an even distribution of salt ingredients or just be very careful when mix part of powder with water because this salt has inside some blue stones (for layer "shine" effect) and black "spots" (for better sticking gold to an object). You MUST add both types of inclusions to a solution (in equal quantity) as well to get a properly working solution.
- If you want to get a "shine" effect of layer - clean and polish your plating object BEFORE plating.
- Do not heat your solution (water) higher then 75 C (167 F) or your chemicals will destroy.
- In 1 L of solution you will able to plate about 1 sq.ft of surface in 7-9 microns (regardless of thickness of layer required, your equipment and experience).
- For exsample you will require 7-9 VDC / 0.25-0.3 ADC to plate a ring in gold.
- A "full" gold plating process is: plating object  - cleaning process - copper layer - nickel layer - gold layer.
- All Safety & Healthy roles (for works with chemicals and electricity) must apply on each plating process.
